(AD) The beauty in breastfeeding: Collab with Willow Moon Photography

Since becoming a Mumma breastfeeding has been a daily occurrence for both myself and my beautiful baby girl.

I am all too aware that our breastfeeding journey (future blog post coming soon) will one day come to an end and, before it does, I felt keen to capture these precious moments.

Breastfeeding causes a lot of opinion to be shared. As a peer supporter for my local breastfeeding group and as a first time Mum who is still breastfeeding I feel passionately that it is something to be celebrated.

I was delighted when I heard that Jasmine from Cheltenham based Willow Moon Photography was wishing to photograph breastfeeding mothers and babies to show that breastfeeding is beautiful.

Jasmine came to our house on a hot Spring afternoon and explained that she wanted to help promote breastfeeding in a positive light and hoped that a photo series would showcase mothers and babies across Gloucestershire who are breastfeeding.

Jasmine photographed my daughter and I as we breastfed as normal, comfortable in the surroundings of our own home.

Jasmine was so friendly and she put us at ease straight away. She worked hard to photograph us from a variety of different angles and positions.

Initially, I was nervous about seeing the images but once I did I couldn’t help but be blown away.

Through her photographs Jasmine has managed to capture the true essence of breastfeeding; It is beautiful, natural and full of love.

I am so pleased to have these pictures to look back on in years to come. Breastfeeding has been such a special part of motherhood for me and I will treasure the memories that will no longer just be in my mind.
